How To: Plushie Care and Restoration

It was requested a while ago that I do a piece talking about plushy cleaning, so I figured I’d cover plushy care in general. Cleaning and caring for your NEW plushies can be pretty easy, but if you buy something used and receive it in less than desirable condition you’re going to have some work to do to help it look new.

PLEASE NOTE: This blog post was written considering mostly Japanese Sailor Moon Crane Game plushies from the 90’s. Feel free to ask about specific plushies/issues in the comments, or do some research on the fabrics in your plushies and apply the appropriate techniques! There should still be a lot here to help you at least get started.

Dusting

Lint rollers are basically my life saver. I use them on my every day clothing, but I also use them on my fabric back drops, and plushies! The sticky won’t transfer onto fabrics, and they won’t pull apart plushy fabric. To get into those hard to reach places just pull off a clean sheet and manually clean the areas yourself. If the sheet is too big cut or tear pieces that will work better.

Makeup brushes are also a great way to pull dust out of tight spaces. They’re also soft enough to not scratch or rip fabric.

Pilling

Pilling is something that happens when the fabric is rubbed a lot in wear or use. It balls up into little puffs of fabric until the fabric wears away entirely and forms a hole. This doesn’t usually reach hole status in collectible plushies, but it’s common in a plushy that gets a lot of love, or underarm of knitted shirts.

There are tools for doing this. It’s a little blade connected to a casing that will suck up and hold the cut off bits of cotton, but shaving razors work just as well.

Washing Plushies

There are lots of things to consider when washing a plushy. First consider how the plushy is assembled. If there are elements that are hot glued it may be better to hand wash the plushy in colder water. How old is the plushy? If it’s old and fragile it might not make it through the cycles in a washing machine. Last, are there any existing damages that might push further if it is machine washed?

Remove any tags that can not be washed safely. If the plushy has a card board tag that has a plastic tab on it, bend the tab and slip the tag off. This shouldn’t damage the plush or tag, and it’s easy to put the tag back on: just do the exact same thing, except slide the tag back on.

Machine Washing

Once the plushy is tag free and you’re sure it’s washer safe put it into a washer bag. They’re typically for bras, but they will protect your plushies as well. If you don’t have a washer bag use a pillowcase instead, and tie over the end with a hair elastic. Set the washer to delicate or a setting you use for delicate items.

Hand Washing

There are multiple options for hand washing. Fill a washing pan or sink full of soapy water or can spot wash. Either way, if you use soap I recommend Dawn Liquid Detergent.

Sink: Fill with cold to warm water depending on dirty it is and add soap. Place plushies in water, let soak, and lightly scrub as needed with a wash cloth (preferably something microfiber that won’t leave bits of itself in your plushy). A kids toothbrush can also be soft enough to help scrub out stubborn stains.

Spot Wash: Dip a cloth into cold to warm water and only use the cloth on the area of the plushy that requires cleaning. Use clean, non-soapy water to clear off the area of soap or cleaners.

Drying

Most plushies will be better off air drying. Long furs, and plastic-y fabrics should definitely air dry. So should any plush with damage that weakens its integrity.

Air Drying: Lay flat in a safe, dry, and warm space.

Sun Drying: Be sure to flip it every hour until dry. Do NOT let the plushy sit in the sun for several days. You risk sun damaging it, more especially if it is old.

Blow Drying: Be cautious of the heat settings. Do not let it accidentally melt your plushies if they are made of synthetic materials. Game machine plushies are often made of felt or a similar fabric and can be heat sensitive. It is not easy to melt fabric with a blow dryer, but is possible on higher settings.

Spot Washing/Removers

Spot removers that are for clothing, or gentle on fabrics should be safe. ALWAYS test these in a spot that is not usually visible (bottom side of a skirt, under a tail, etc.). Be sure that the remover is safe for colours! Many of them contain bleach. Tide-To-Go pens are a popular choice and have a lot of good reviews. Just remember that they are a step previous to washing. If you do not want to wash your entire plush spot washing with a cloth is a good option after using the pen.

Lysol wipes are my FAVOURITE for spot washing plushies. It disinfects and removes dirt at the same time and won’t damage anything. This CAN be kind of wasteful if you don’t like the sheets. I invite you to buy the equivalent Lysol and a cleaning cloth.

For items I can’t get clean or stain hard and CAN go into the washer I LOVE Resolve Spray Wash. This stuff is AMAZING at removing stains. I recommend following the directions which is usually to spray the stain, scrub, let sit for 5 minutes, and wash.

I have used this product on synthetic products that do not leak dye and I’ve had no problem letting it sit longer on harder stains. If an item has dyed fabric I recommend being cautious doing that. The instructions warn that it could remove dye.

Repairing Plushies

Ripped Seams/Pieces that have come Unglued

Repairing a plushy will always depend on how the actual plushy was made to repair it to like-new state. Most of my modern plushies are sewn together 100% with some embroidered elements, while my older plushies from the 1990’s are a mix of sewing, hot glue, or a glue that resembles super glue.

Before moving forward, clear up the area you are repairing. Remove any loose threads, or old glue. Old glue can be removed with glue dissolvants that are meant for that glue. Goo-Gone is a good place to start, but I like to use 100% Acetone (aka nail polish remover). ALWAYS test that it won’t damage the plush first. Acetone is GREAT for removing hot glue from acrylic yarn and felt.

Glue: I highly recommend these glues for repairs:
Mercury M1100G Glue
E6000 Glue
Hot Glue
Fabric Glue

Seam Rips: These can be repaired several ways. I only suggest resewing the patch if you know how, or carefully fabric glue the section together. Be sure to follow the directions on the bottle. Not following the proper procedure WILL result in the fabric glue not holding well enough.

Sun Bleaching

Sun bleaching happens when an item fades in colour after long exposure to the sun. This normally takes quite a few days to years to happen in items like plastic, but it can take a few days on fabrics.

On fabrics there is no repair process for this without re-dying the fabric. Be sure to colour test swatches before dying a full section of fabric affected. If part of a panel is damaged do not dye just the damaged section. It will be less noticeable if the full panel is dyed. If the plush is intact use a paintbrush and mask off the areas you do not want to paint with tape so that it is easier to complete the job without mistakes.

While I highly recommend synthetic fabric dyes, in a pinch, watered down Acrylic paints CAN dye fabrics, but I recommend not calling that a repair, as it can harden the fabric.

Maintenance/Display

Bagging

A lot of collectible plushies will come in bag plastic wrapping. If the bag does not obstruct any part of the plush that you want visible it’s worth keeping it in the bag just to avoid dust contamination. If there IS an issue with how the plush is bagged it should be okay to open it and adjust things. The bags do not really affect their worth the same way an open or sealed box affects a figures value.

A small collector secret is Cling Wrap! It’s not the most attractive way to protect a plushy, but it’s cheap, and it CAN look good if you apply it properly. This was a method my parents used with my china dolls when I was a kid. They created a small bag out of the wrap, and while the outside of the cling wrap yellowed with smoke the doll stayed perfectly clean and did not turn, even after 20 years.

When looking for replacement bag options avoid bags (and cling wrap) meant for freezers. These can sometimes have chemicals in them meant for protecting food and can yellow collectibles over long periods of time.

Display Case

Plushies can be easy to maintain in a display case. This can range from things like shadow boxes to full on book shelves with doors. I even use a china cabinet to display dolls and plush in, and this keeps out a lot of dust.

detolf

For large displays I have used the Ikea Detolf. It’s a great tempered glass display shelf that’s compact, but has just the right dimensions to play around with. It’s easy to wrap something like cling wrap around the front display and pile plush behind it so they don’t fall out when the door is opened.

Book shelving is one of the more obvious answers, but I am tossing this in in 2021 as an update to the post. I have since sold my detolfs in exchange for shelving because I maxed out my detolfs in the space I had available. When I moved out I was broke af and went with the Ikea Gersby shelf, but a couple years in and I think my next move will be to upgrade to Ikea Billy shelves. The Gersby shelving is great and uniform with their unadjustable shelves, but that has greatly hindered my ability to display larger items, or keep items in boxes. I can also upgrade my Billy shelves in the future with doors

If you DO buy a Billy shelf with doors be sure to anchor it to the wall no matter where you live or if you have earth quakes. The doors make the shelving front heavy and unreliable as free standing.

Sunrise Luna P Cushion

Released: November 2014
Item Wiki: Luna P
Item MFC

Marketing

Luna P is one of the first items being released in a series of Sailor Moon items called the “Sailor Sisters Collection”. It really only had one ad released (Below), but marketing went pretty viral because this is the first 1:1 scale Luna P ever officially released. She sold between 2,500 yen and 3,000 yen average on most sites.

Packaging and Tags

Luna P came in a clear plastic bag with zero markings. She does have a butt tag, and a cardboard tag though.

Materials

IMG_3692E

Up until now all of the plushies released for the 20th Anniversary have had embroidered faces. Probably due to the materials used in Luna P, her face is printed on with a vinyl.

IMG_3691E

The antenna coming out of Luna P’s head is sturdy, but not bendable, and the ears are really well stuffed.

IMG_3703E
Admit it, you did this as well.

The material is SUPER stretchy and soft, and instead of being stuffed with cotton batting it’s stuffed with beans. That means it’ll keep shape for a LOT longer, and it’s super easy to sit Luna P down and make it sit still.

Shape

IMG_3689E IMG_3693E

The thing about Luna P is that it’s full of beans. In these shots it’s definitely not round, but it’s pretty easy to make it close, or at least more attractive than shot 2 XD.

I found really fast that Luna P is durable and will hold shape nicely while on display.

Overall

Luna P is one of those products that made me hmm and haw over whether I wanted it, and did so probably the most since the new merchandise began releasing for me. That said, I have zero regrets, and once it was in my hands I didn’t even consider whether I wanted to keep it.

Luna P is a WONDERFUL display piece, whether in a display case or on your bed. I have no doubt that as a convention cosplay prop it’ll hold up well, and should be easy to surface clean. It’s a must have for Luna P/Chibi Usa collectors, and the perfect size for cosplayers.

Mini Plush Cushion Set 1

header

Japanese release date: December 2013
Manufacturer: Bandai

Line: Sailor Moon Mini Cushion
MyFigureCollection

These plushies were one of the first of the 20th Anniversary celebrations! They’re vastly different than the plush of the 90’s, but without doubt still managed to be some of the cutest plushies out there.

Advertising

I do not currently own any advertising for this product.

Packaging

These plush come loose individually, as well as in a box set. While the individual plush averaged about $10 each, the box set, in places that were selling it for suggested retail, sold for about $40, so slightly discounted. There are no differences between the BOXED plush, and the LOOSE plush though.

Posing

The plush are made so that they sit. The bottoms are stuffed with beans, the bottoms sewn so that they’re flat, and the legs so that they stick out on the front. For the most part they sit just fine, but I’ve found my Jupiter and Venus have issues balancing. This could be because of Jupiter’s stuffed hair, and Venus’ hair bow.

IMG_1609

Embroidery, Accessories, & Stitching

The plushies seem relatively strong and high quality. I wouldn’t expect many pieces to fall off of these because of old glue or wear. Most things appear to be stitched on. The only pieces that appear to be glued are the earrings, which are also a fabric or paper.

Everything is done extremely clean on these plushies, from the embroidery in their eyes, to how each piece has been stitched on as part of the plush. It seems most of these are put together as a PLUSH, instead of a body with clothing on it like some of the earlier pieces from the 90’s (some important pieces had been glued on).

The gems on their bows are just plastic rhinestones, but are a nice touch compared to the normal fabric or paper materials. The stripes, which in the past were normally stitched on, are printed and solid. Unfortunately the tiara gem gets ignored and appears to be printed into the fabric tiara. The same goes for Sailor Moons hair bun pieces, which appear to be some sort of thick card stock.

Tags

The tags for this set are probably among my favourite for any plush series I’ve owned yet. Each tag has the character on the front, and a profile in Japanese on the inside. It also has the TOEI tag on the back, instead of on the tush tag. Copyright information and warnings can also be found printed on the inside left flap, and back. They’re attacked to the top of each Senshi’s head.

Tush Tags

The tush tags are located on the back butts of the plushies (hence, tush). On the top they’re printed with the corresponding Senshi’s symbol, and on the bottom is their plushie number (392 – 398), the month/year they were released (Lies! They were delayed and released in Dec, not Nov as scheduled),  and where they were made (China).

Overall

These plushies are very nice. They’re cute, well made, reasonably priced at 800 – 1200 yen average retail, and are small enough to keep on a shelf, or display case. The fabrics feature lots of wonderful textures that do not hinder their appearances, and displayed these plush look ADORABLE.

Recommended for Plushie, and general collectors. If plush don’t normally tickle your fancy they will just be plush. There’s nothing to make them particularly special compared to most plushies beyond being a part of the Sailor Moon anniversary. Compared to the typical plushies Sailor Moon received from Banpresto claw machines in the past though, these are a huge step up in quality.

Feel free to comment with any questions you might have!

Otafest 2011

Hey guys!

Otafest was this weekend. Russ and I only went for Saturday since we really didn’t plan on going at all. Last minute he decided he wanted autographs ^^0 This is my haul from the dealers. Unfortunately the three figurines are bootlegs, as are the small plastic Sailor Moon key chains. I didn’t know until I had bought them, drove home to Edmonton and looked them up on Myfigurinecollection.net.

Asuka and Rei were a total of $70
Shinku was $55
Mini Sailor Moon plush were $70
Key chains were $30 (Mercury and Mini Moon are missing from photo)
The Sailor Moon fan art was $20. There’s an Ariel poster in the bag as well that was also $20.

Does anyone know who the artist of the fanart is? I was at her table but never got her username on DA. Her art is amazing.

Overall Otafest was fun. We really only went to see Synaptic Chaos Theater. I highly suggest them. They’re fricken hilarious. If you use to see the 404’s and wondered what happened to the members SCT is the name of the new group they’ve formed.

Since those figurines are bootlegs I think I’ll make custom bases for them. Anyone have any suggestions? I was thinking about making a small cafe diorama for the Evangelion girls. Now I’m not so sure. I’m watching the series for the first time and I don’t think these outfits suit their personalities.

A Taste of Animethon and the mail

So I haven’t updated in ages (again), but I’ve added and edited plenty of things on the website. One day I should begin taking photos of my Disney stuff before I have waaay to much of it. Oh right, too late XD

With the Italian revival of Sailor Moon I’ve bought some items from a seller on Livejournal who has been kind enough to send them to people looking. What I’m really hoping for is to find some of these dolls at conventions. Probably not much of a chance of that though. Not with the shipping cost.

Anyways, here’s my haul from the last week.

This has been a lot of fun. Last Saturday was A Taste of Animethon. While there I picked up the Mokona plush ($15), and the key chain set ($20). Then on Monday (Valentines day!) I got the large Sailor Saturn kit in the mail. This is her fully painted, but I’ve yet to finish her base or glaive… so it’s a sneak peek for you. Picked her up from E2046.com for $35. Then I got the Venus pin, El key chain, Mercury and Venus plush plus 2 key chain plush (not pictured) for $25 including shipping from Fairyland on Ebay. They had a sale I caught the end of. The Small Saturn gashapon was bought from a user on deviantArt.com and I got her for a steal! She was only $25 (saying only for a figurine that size is painful lol). The manga was advertised as Sailor Moon #1, but it’s actually Sailor Moon S #1… and yes there is a difference for you non Moonies. Thankfully I didn’t have it and it was only $5, despite going on Ebay for $45 right now ❤ The Tangled folder in the back contains lithographs that you get from the Disney Store when you pre-order the DVD there. We also preordered the special edition doll.

I’m SO excited!!!

Along with all of this I have two Italian posters on the way and I’m waiting to be able to pay for a set of Italian dolls. Their international shipping is killing me. It costs more to ship than the actual dolls cost.

I’m going to end this with some updated collection photos for you 😉 Click for bigger shots.

Pop Culture Fair and Moar

So, not one of my best collection photos ever. I never used my normal pink blanket for the back drop since my photo area is MIA at the moment. Not really sure where or how I want to set up a new one.

In this photo you see a Rapunzel doll on the left. She’s fully posable, as are the Tiana and Mulan dolls beside her. They’re generally from the same line. Got them at the Disney Store for 2 for $25. I believe Rapunzel was $20 alone because she’s a new character. The larger Rapunzel doll is from their toddler line. Got her today for $40 at the Disney store. her expression BEGGED me to buy her. I’ve also got the Ariel version of thse dolls, but I found out today that her clothing is damaged. Her shoulder strap is missing it’s flowers. Oh well. I love her anyways. The Diana coin purse came from Warp 1 on Whyte Ave (Edmonton). Got her for $10. The Pikachu slippers are official. Got them from a vendor at the Pop Culture Fair today for $20. They’re SO comfy and warm <33333 . The Eternal Sailor moon plushie is the one I mentioned in my last post. I got her for $15 at Warp 1 the same time I got the coin purse. Below her are my Nightmare before Christmas and Tangled CDs which I got from HMV. Today at the Pop Culture Fair I also managed to pick up that Spiderman Loves Mary Jane book for $20, Aladdin and the King of Theives for $15, Power Puff Girls movie for $15, and Paprika for $10. Kirby’s Epic Yarn was purchased new at Walmart for $50, while Wave Race and the Metabots game were found at a flea market today for $25 for both of them.

NOT pictured are several CDs, Disney movies, a Jem and the Holograms bootleg shirt, and awesome things I probably can’t remember at the moment. Things will (hopefully) slow down now. Christmas is coming and I need to be able to afford it D= Today was SO expensive.

And for the record, most of this was purchased a while ago. Just never got pictures of it.

Updates:

Updated the Custom by me page with my custom Sailor Chibi Moon figure finally.

Updated my Disney DVD List. Holey 80+ movies batman.

Added some scans to Sailor Moon Bottle Caps page and The Sailor Moon PC-Engine game page.

MIGHT ditch the image buttons. I’m not motivated enough to keep making them lol D=

Overhaul

So I’m doing some overhauling!

If you haven’t noticed, I go through a LOT of different templates. Thing is, you might NOT notice because the template is usally laid out the same way. The big difference is normally in the header, menu, and width of the page. Some of these might change size, shape, or font. At this moment, I THINK this template will stick. It’s wide, the menu buttons are accessible and don’t hide at the bottom of your browser anymore.

The overhaul will be more obvious at the main Sailor Moon page, where I’ve included some old collection shots, as well as some info about my collection.

If you look at the Plushies page you’ll see that I’ve begun adding content to the “inbetween pages”. There is something similar on previous pages, but I’m not at all happy with it.

I added a meeting and autograph session with Australian singer Kate Miller-Heidke a couple months ago, but never posted it here.

Added a Sailor Moon PC Engine game tonight. Edited the Classic SM Uncut DVD review, as well as the SM R Uncut DVD review. And probably a lot of plushie stuff that wasn’t there before.

OH, and I’ve seriously updated my Disney DVD list because I’ve been buying them at a stupidly fast rate. Silly Walmart sales…

OH and by the way…

I found these beauties somewhere between the East Meets West Festival in Edmonton, a game shop, HMV, Walmart, Value Village, and a flea market on 111 avenue here in Ed.

Bootleg figures (better paint and need the stands) – $15
Luna Rock CD – $8 ❤
Korean? Puzzle – $2
Video Game (linked above) – $20
Cards – Free from exchange
Jessie doll – $7.50
Mercury transformation pose – $7.50
Puplip – $5
Pokemon 200 – $5
Cinderella 2 – $20
Lilo and Stitch 2 – $10
Tarzan 2 – $10
Astro Boy – $10
Fruits Basket  Complete Collection – $20
Pokemon Legends Movie Collection – $20

I also got 2 more North American puzzles with the Korean one, but I already had them. Oops D= Oh well, they were a dollar each lol.

Animethon 17 Con Haul

Merch from Athon 17

So Animethon 17 ended a week ago, but due to my incredible ability to be lazy… I’m updating now =D

Regardless of the photograph, Animethon wasn’t packed with Sailor Moon goodness this year. In fact,  I believe I’ve cleaned out their merchandise. Anime Hypercubed had a full set of Japanese manga for sale for $100, but I’m not sure I’d pay that, nor was it any good to me considering I can’t read Japanese.  It was a strange weekend for merch though. No one was carrying the new bootleg plushies that turned up at Otafest, nor were they carrying the cat hats, or cat plushies. I at least expected to find the new Artemis bootleg plush.

Anyways! My haul this year!

-Set of Shugo Chara figurines (2x Utau, 2x Ikuto, 1x Amu, 1x Yaya). Heads are interchangeable, as are arms. Paid $25 😀 That was amazing. These things are stupid expensive.
-Utau key chain as  Seraphic Charm. Paid $5

-Shugo Chara metal key chain $5
-Shugo Chara coin purses. Paid $12 each (Amu, Ran, Miki, Su, Dai)
-Sailor Moon Stickers $1/sheet
-Dark Lady Plush + LunaP Paid: Print trade with Zephyr.
-Sailor Moon plushie, Paid $30 (this is actually from AE last year. A friend of mine FINALLY dropped it off D=)
-Mars plushie came with Moon. Not sure if she’s mine yet lol.
-Rozen Maiden plush – gift from Fiancee ❤
-L33t Str33t boys CD + other autographs are fiancees and I have no idea lol.

The makeup in the picture came from Pomme Minerals. She’s a friend of mine, and a brilliant creator of make-up. In fact, her product is all I’ve worn since she sent me samples.

The Sailor Mercury key chain is from Sidewayslogic, who has also made several of the buttons I purchased in previous years.

And of course, none of this is updated yet because I’m STILL going through Animethon pictures that I promised a week ago.

Otafest, Garage Sales, and Swap Meets, oh my!

I love my Fiancee. In fact, he’s probably the reason I’m collecting anime and Sailor Moon merchandise the way that I am right now. When we first met and began dating I was still a huge fan of Sailor Moon, but I wasn’t really into spending money on merchandise. Sure, a few key chains here and there at conventions, but NEVER shopping online and purposely searching for it the way I do now.

In the way of Sailor Moon merch. Otafest was a bust. We were expecting to meet up with a friend and buy his collection from him, but it turns out the rest of his collection was back in Edmonton… where the three of us are from anyways. So we’re going to meet up at some point and buy the stuff… if I can afford to even breath after the last 2 weeks.

Let me start this off by telling you that the lack of new updates hasn’t been because I’ve been busy or lazy. Oh no. You see, pre, during, and after Otafest both my fiancee and I were mildly sick with a small cold. He had it worse before, but was getting over it, I was fighting it off quite well with syrup and lots of meds. This didn’t work. Not only did I get REALLY sick when I got back to Edmonton after Otafest, but it turned into what the doctors called an Acute Sinus Infection. Trust me when I say acute is NOT the right word. My face swelled up, I was in so much pain that I began shaking violently. Finally the sinus infection seemed to go away, but the swelling in my face didn’t. A return to the doctors confirmed that it was Shingles.

AVOID SHINGLES. I’m telling you now. There is NOTHING that will take the pain away.

Anyways, here is my Otafest update as well as other events that have happened since.
Sailor Moon-wise, this was all I found. A single bootleg plushie ($20), which also happens to be the newest bootleg. I also got a Sailor Moon World poster ($3)(which is also probably a bootleg) and it’s absolutely beautiful.

Also pictured are 2 Shugo Chara art books (official?)($45 each), Red Shugo Chara Dumpty Key($10), various character Shugo Chara key chain($10), a Humpty Lock watch (front opens)($15), 2 fan buttons($3), Chobits 7 manga($8), entire first half of Magic Knight Rayearth manga($14). There is also a Rozen Maiden pencil board that isn’t pictured (actually it is, it’s just hiding in one of the art books *face palm*)

The Chobits art book isn’t new. I got it autographed by the Michelle Ruff, the english voice actress of Chii.

My fiancee also found Amu, Ran, Miki, and Suu plushies($25 each), as well as 2 Shugo Chara posters($3 each). We won xxholic season 1 autographed by a voice actor, as well as another anime by him that involves a frog lol. There’s also an official Otafest back pack autographed by the same voice actor. This is apparently all my fiancees though </3 No sharing lol. Of course, we also managed to pick up the entire Kare Kano manga series in the charity auction for $35. The autographed stuff in this paragraph was also for the charity auction.

This is some of the stuff I got from a friend of mine. We actually still aren’t done. I purchased a broach off of her as well, but both of us forgot about it when I went to pick up the stuff pictured above lol.

So 3 North American puzzles, and the Web of the Negaverse board game, which is also Canadian. This particular game tends to be rare, but sells for rather cheap. I owned it when Sailor Moon was still rather popular for my generation, but sold it in a garage sale. I got the games for $5 each, the game for $20, and the clock for either $5 or free? lol I’m not sure. I also got a LOAD of North American trading cards for $5.

Does anyone know if the clock is legit? I believe it may be bootleg, but the printing quality is pretty good. It appears to be yellowed, but the plastic cover over the puzzle actually has a yellow tint. I’m going to try and see if it needs cleaning or if it’s just yellow. It appeared to just be yellow though.

Some of the people at Anime-Alberta hosted a swap meet at the University of Alberta this past Saturday. It was rather… sad in terms of the turn out, but there were LOTS of vendors lol. Thank you to Blix @ Anime-Alberta who was amazing and brought lots of Sailor Moon things for me to drool over.

Pictured are the 5 house sets for each of the inner senshi (did they make them for the outers?). She was selling them for $20 for the entire set, but I thought all day that it was $20 each and that I couldn’t afford them. At the end of the day she gave me all 5 for $15 dollars!! That’s a total of $3 dollars each. YES I NEARLY PEED MY PANTS. I was SO happy and I can’t wait to assemble/set up everything so that I can photograph it. Most of the items are already taken apart and sticker’d, but it’ll still be fun.

I also got a Tuxedo Mask pencil board, Pluto key chain (official? $1), Prince Darien figurine ($1), Tuxedo Mask key chain (official? $1), Sailor Neptune pin ($1) and Tuxedo Mask pin ($1). She also sold me the Luna Pen for $3 and said she’ll send me a message if she finds the box! Then there’s also a card board Mercury card which she gave me for free, and 2 sticker sets that I paid $1 each for.

NOT pictured are 2 Card Captor Sakura official figurines that I got for $2 from another vendor.

And so it is once again proven that I can find Sailor Moon anywhere XD My poor, poor fiancee.
